Favourite covers: The savage pencil of Neal Adams

There are so many exceptional artists who have produced amazing work on barbarian characters over the years including John Buscema, Barry Windsor Smith, and Earl Norem. But perhaps my favourite of these was the legendary Neal Adams. He didn't draw a lot of books in this genre but he did produce some of the best covers featuring savage barbarians. Below are some of my favourites.

    Some great covers there, McS. I'll be doing a cover gallery before too long of Conan Saga, which reused many (if not all) of the covers from SSOC. Been planning on doing it for ages, but just never found the time.

    Neal Adams made those fantasy world feel real. One can almost smell the sweat and blood on his brawny heroes as they cleave their way to some rough justice or perhaps merely survival.

    Whenever I get a bit weary of comics I always pick up a Neal Adams Conan type book and I once again "get" why I love the genre so much.
